COOKIES
These web pages use so-called cookies in many areas. A cookie is a piece of data that a website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer as a tag that identifies your computer. While cookies are often only used to measure website usage (number of users and duration of a visit) and effectiveness (subjects that are of most interest for the visitors) and to allow for ease of navigation or use and as such, are not associated with any personal information. However, they can also be used to personalise the website experience for a known visitor. In this case a user reference can be created to assign profile information or user settings. Over the course of time, such information provides a useful insight to help us to improve the user experience on our website. Cookies are generally distinguished as either session cookies or persistent cookies. Session cookies provide an efficient method to navigate through the web site, whereby cookies log your path through the individual web pages so that you will not be asked again to input information that you have already entered shortly beforehand during the same visit to the web site. Session cookies are saved in temporary memory and deleted as soon as the web browser is closed. Persistent cookies on the other hand save user settings for the current visit as well as for future visits to the web site. They are saved on your hard drive and continue to be valid if you start the browser anew. For example, we use persistent cookies to record your language selection and your country information. As cookies are required for the basic functions of the website and functional analysis of website usage to improve performance and enable you to use certain features of our website, we recommend that you do not generally disable them in your browser settings. If your browser blocks third-party cookies (“marketing cookies” or “targeting cookies” to display ads and to monitor your progress on the Internet) this will not affect the functionality of our website.

USE OF WEB ANALYSIS PROGRAMMES
On our websites, we use so-called web analysis programmes to analyse your use of our pages. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. The following section provides the information you need to protect your personal rights.
GOOGLE ANALYTICS
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Ireland Limited („Google“). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies,” text files saved on your computer that facilitate an analysis of your use of our website. The information provided by these cookies regarding your use of our website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will, however, be shortened within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states in the Agreement on the European Economic Area before this transfer. Only in exceptional cases will your full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA, where it will be shortened. Google will use this information to evaluate your site usage, create reports regarding website activity, and complete additional services associated with your internet use for the website operator. The IP addresses transferred by your browser as part of Google Analytics are not associated with other data from Google. You can prohibit the storage of cookies by changing the settings in your browser software accordingly; we would, however, like to inform you that in this case you will not be able to use the full extent of all functions on our website. You can also prohibit the collection of the data created by cookies and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) by Google and Google’s processing of this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:
“Deactivate Google Analytics”. More information on usage conditions and data privacy is available at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/ and at https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/. We would like to note that the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” was added to Google Analytics on this website in order to allow anonymised collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).
GOOGLE TAG MANAGER
On our website, we use Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager is a solution from Google Inc. that allows us to manage our website tags via an interface. Google Tag Manager is a cookie-less domain that does not collect or store any personal data. Google Tag Manager merely triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. Google Tag Manager cannot access this data. If you have deactivated a tag at domain- or cookie level, this deactivation remains in place for all tracking tags that have been implemented via Google Tag Manager.
GOOGLE ADS
We have integrated Google Ads on this website. Google Ads is a web-based advertising service that allows us to display ads in Google’s search engine results, as well as in the Google advertising network. Google Ads allows us to specify certain keywords, which causes an ad to be displayed in Google’s search engine results only when the user retrieves a keyword-relevant search result using the search engine. In the Google advertising network, ads are distributed on topic-relevant websites by means of an automatic algorithm and in compliance with the previously defined keywords.
The operating company of Google Ads Services is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.
The purpose of using Google Ads is to advertise our website by displaying interest-relevant advertising on the web pages of third-party companies and in the search engine results of the Google search engine, as well as to display third-party advertising on our website.
If you reach the 121WATT GmbH website via a Google advertisement, a conversion cookie will be stored by Google on the user’s information technology system. You can find out what the term “cookies” denotes under Clause 5. This cookie loses its validity after thirty days and is not used to identify the user. Via the conversion cookie, we can ascertain whether certain sub-pages, such as a seminar page of an online shop system, were accessed on our website. Through the conversion cookie, we – as well as Google – can track whether a user who arrived on our website via an ad generated a transaction, i.e., for example, completed or cancelled a seminar registration.
Through the use of the conversion cookie, the data and information collected are used by Google to compile visitor statistics for our website. We use the visitor statistics to determine the total number of users so that we can ascertain the success (or failure) of the particular ads and to optimise our ads for the future. Neither our company nor other advertising customers of Google Ads receive information from Google by means of which users can be identified. By means of the conversion cookie, personal information – such as the web pages visited by you – is stored. Personal data is, therefore, transferred to Google each time you visit our website.
You can prevent the setting of cookies by our website, as described above, at any time by means of the appropriate setting of the web browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the web browser used would also prevent Google from setting a conversion cookie on the user’s information technology system. In addition, a cookie already set by Google Ads can be deleted at any time via the web browser or other software programmes.
Furthermore, it is also possible to object to interest-based advertising by Google. To do this, you must access the link https://www.google.com/settings/ads from any of the web browsers you use and make the desired settings there.
Further information and the applicable data protection provisions of Google can be found at https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/ .
